Carnivorous perennial of bogs and damp flushes, fens , moor wet heath; rosette of yellow-green, sticky leaves can trap and digest insects. Widespread and fairly common in Ireland and NW Britain; scarce elsewhere. Flowers violet with a throat patch and purple spur. Violet, pointed spurr flowers, 10 to 15mm long, seen May to August. Height up to 15cm
