A number of listed buildings are in the area and the Site is Bisected by Royds Hall Scheduled Ancient Highway which plays an important part in the history of Royds Hall Manor ( see Main Index ). Scheduled ancient highways are protected under law.

 

Nearby listed buildings include Royds Hall, Royds Hall Farm and Royds Hall Cottages all of which will markedly copntrastr with this developemnt. West Yorkshire Archaeolgy have also placed a an order on a Bell Pit of 1850 to be properly excavated before any work commences

 

Scheduled Ancient Highways are protected and are a vital part of our Heritage . Unversity of Bradford have recently alluded to the unique and diverse value of the Woodland , and its surrounding landscape and Heritage . We therefore have asked English Heritage to intervene to protect this vital link which is part of the bigger picture

 

Many of the old mine tramays can still be seen etched on the landscape in dry weather skiting the reservoir to takle mineral round to the old mnineral cottages at Abb Scott Lane . Old Bell Pits also show an impact that people have had on the landscape over the years. Judyt Woods and its surroundings is very much a living Museum.
